On Saturday you have the chance to experience the pioneer spirit and rich agricultural history of Florida’s heartland.

The Immokalee Cattle Drive is back in Southwest Florida. That means people can expect an exciting and historical day filled with food, fun, and of course, lots of cattle.

Saturday’s event started with a four-hour pancake breakfast at 7 a.m. After that, people could see real-life cowboys in action bringing the cows home to Roberts Ranch.

The event will also have plenty of entertainment, food vendors, and an alligator wrestling match.

WINK News spoke with Helen Midney, the Collier Museum manager about the history behind Saturday’s events.

“Which is our Immokalee Pioneer Museum. And we will kick off our jamboree portion where we’ve got a lot of fun events,” Midney said.

The cowboys started performing at 9 a.m. but all the festivities last until 3 p.m.
