Smoking is now illegal in all Fort Myers public parks in an effort to ensure a healthy environment and more enjoyable time for park visitors, said officials.

Counties and municipalities are now allowed to restrict smoking as part of the Florida Clean Air Act that was passed in 2022.

If you get caught smoking at a park, you could get a $100 fine. This restriction does not apply to unfiltered cigars.
