Mental Health Monday: Substance use disorders during the holidays

According to the National Center for Drug Abuse, drug usage among teenagers rose 61% between 2016 and 2020.

Substance use disorders or drug abuse, according to the Mayo Clinic, is a disease that affects a person’s brain and behavior and leads to an inability to control the use of a legal or illegal drug or medicine.

WINK News Anchors Corey Lazar and Lindsey Sablan sat down with Kristin Bryan, a registered nurse with Elite DNA Behavioral Health to talk about how mental health plays a role in substance use disorders.
