Police arrested a man accused of trafficking more than 30 ounces of cocaine, after getting help from man’s best friend during a traffic stop.

According to the Fort Myers Police Department, 32-year-old Marco Sanchez Garcia was driving near State Road 82 and Interstate 75 with 30-year-old Yunior Cruz Salvatierra in the passenger seat.

When the car entered the City of Fort Myers, police initiated a traffic stop.

Balor, a K-9, began a “free-air sniff” of the vehicle during the traffic stop. While searching the vehicle, officers found 34 ounces of cocaine inside.

Garcia was arrested for driving without a license, and Salvatierra was arrested for trafficking cocaine.

They were both transported to the Lee County Jail.
