Airplane crashes after veering off runway at Buckingham Airport

An airplane veered off the Buckingham Airport runway during takeoff, according to the FAA incident report, leaving it damaged.

It happened on Monday, at around 3 p.m.

The airport is located at 15191 Homestead Road in Lehigh Acres and is a “live with your plane” community located in Fort Myers approximately six miles north of Southwest Florida International Airport.

The Beechcraft TC-12B airplane is registered with the Lee County Mosquito Control, according to the FAA incident page.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.

No injuries were reported.
