Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office releases activity stats from Memorial Day weekend

The Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office and The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission collaborated throughout Memorial Day weekend to ensure residents’ safety.

CCSO released the numbers regarding the influx of people who visited Boca Grande and surrounding areas, stating that an estimated 70,000 people visited the area for the annual H2O Music Fest.

Here is a list of law enforcement activity during Memorial Day weekend:

Marine Patrol Activity (CCSO, FWC, Charlotte County Fire and EMS)

  • Calls for service – 46 (Combined CCSO, CC Fire and EMS)
  • Citations issued – 28 (Combined CCSO and FWC)
  • Warnings issued – 103 (Combined CCSO and FWC)
  • BUI arrests – 5 (Combined CCSO and FWC)
  • Other Arrests – 1 (Disorderly intoxication and resisting arrest) (CCSO)

Traffic Unit Activity (CCSO)

  • Traffic Stops – 242
  • Citations Issued – 211
  • Warnings Issued – 114
  • Other Arrests – 7 criminal citations for suspended or no driver’s license

CCSO mentioned that no DUI traffic arrests were made during its operation.
