Tracking severe weather on Fort Myers Beach and San Carlos Blvd.

Early Thursday, San Carlos looked nearly impassible to drivers as they drove slowly and cautiously through several inches of rain.

Signs from the Florida Department of Transportation alerted drivers not to drive on the right-hand side of San Carlos Blvd. when exiting Fort Myers Beach.

Some businesses along San Carlos closed down Thursday due to the amount of rain and for the safety of their employees.

Right across from San Carlos Blvd. was Buttonwood Drive, where several inches of rain had piled up the road.

The flood conditions made certain routes more difficult for drivers. However, the water has receded, and it could be safer for drivers on Friday.
