The right lane of the Edison Bridge was blocked for hours early Saturday morning. The Fort Myers Police Department has confirmed this is a hit-and-run crash, and there are no reported injuries at this time. The white truck involved was severely damaged, with the front smashed in. There was a large police response, with numerous patrol cars blocking the right lane of the Edison Bridge. After the crash, debris from both the white truck and the semi-truck was all over the side of the road, including a tire rim. Crews are still working to clean up debris on the side of the road, but again, the right lane is no longer blocked off. We reached out to FMPD, asking them for the identity of the hit-and-run driver and how the crash happened.
