Hotel fire breaks out at Rodeway Inn on Cleveland Avenue

The Fort Myers Fire Department responded to a hotel fire on Cleveland Avenue early Thursday morning.

Guests at the Rodeway Inn were unexpectedly awakened by the blaze that damaged 11 rooms.

All guests of the Rodeway Inn were evacuated while firefighters worked the scene.

According to the FMFD, the fire was contained; however, the cause of the fire is under investigation.

The state Fire Marshal was called to aid in the investigation.

The 11 rooms that became uninhabitable were relocated to the next-door building.

No injuries were reported.
