Two women are accused of stealing 70 cans of baby formula and drink powder from a Publix in Lee County.

According to Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers, the duo took the baby formula from Publix on 13401 Summerlin Road at Cypress Lake Drive on June 15, around 7 p.m.

They’re accused of taking Enfamil, Nutramigen and Similac cans that would have cost $2,909.

“That takes a lot of a lot of gumption,” said Jordan Coil, a Publix customer.

“I mean, just knowing how expensive everything is, including baby products. That’s absolutely crazy.” said another Publix customer, Taylor Tracey.

Southwest Florida crime stoppers posted the photo of the thieves on Facebook on Monday.

They say the women stole 70 cans of baby formula and drink powder from a Publix off of Summerlin Road and Cypress Lake Drive.

“That’s that’s got to be at least two cartfuls and there had to have been people that have seen it, you know what I mean? Like that. That’s different. ” said Coil.

The women cleared half a shelf of formula ranging from $30 to over $60.

“I mean, just knowing how expensive everything is, including baby products. That’s absolutely crazy,” said Tracey.

The duo drove away in a silver, four-door sedan.

“Every single time that something like that happens, the prices go up again, and then, you know, the ones that actually really need it. That’s just not good,” said Coil.

“I hope that they found out who it was and they get down to the bottom,” said Tracey.

If you recognize the two women, call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-780-8477.
