An Immokalee man has been arrested after allegedly leaving his dog tied up outside with only his partially inundated doghouse for shelter.

According to the Collier County Sheriff’s Office, Robo, a young bully terrier, sat inside his flooded doghouse tethered to a pole and unable to move outside his confined space in his owner’s backyard.

On Wednesday morning, detectives arrested Robo’s owner, 43-year-old Romeo Gabriel-Lopez.

When detectives arrived at Gabriel-Lopez’s residence on Christian Terrace, rain was pouring down, and Robo’s doghouse was flooded with approximately 1-2 feet of water.

Detectives said Robo was tethered to a pole and barely had any space to move outside his doghouse.

Gabriel-Lopez is being charged with animal cruelty.
