Chris Monhan took home the first place championship belt Thursday at the annual City Tavern Fourth of July chili dog eating contest. It was all a part of City Tavern’s annual July Fourth Block Party. Hot Dog for Heroes wrapped up around 7 p.m., but live music and food by celebrity chef Brian Buffy will continue until around 9 p.m. All proceeds from this event will benefit the local American Legion Post #38 in downtown Fort Myers, which provides food, services and basic necessities to veterans.
