Plane forced to make emergency landing at Naples Airport

Published: Updated:

A plane had to make an emergency belly landing at Naples Airport late Monday morning.

Naples Airport Authority confirmed that it was a small bonanza piston-type airplane.

One person was on board the aircraft, and there were no injuries.

NAA told WINK News that the plane had an engine issue while taking off and had to make an emergency landing before reaching the end of the runway.

The landing gear was up, so the plane came down on its belly and skidded down the runway.

The team is assessing the situation now and determining next steps to remove the plane from the runway.

The plane is on the corporate Flight Drive side of the runway.
