Jose Antonio Perez Credit: The Collier County Sheriff’s Office A Naples man has been arrested after allegedly possessing child pornography. According to the Collier County Sheriff’s Office, in July 2023, Verizon reported to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children that a user had uploaded six images to their data storage system believed to be of child sexual abuse material. In September 2023, an officer followed up on the investigation and found that one of the six images depicted was of a victim between the ages of 13 and 16. In October 2023, a search warrant was signed by a judge. The account of 48-year-old Jose Antonio Perez revealed 482 images were of child erotica images. On Thursday, Perez confirmed to officers that the phone number was his and confessed to possessing the images, stating he was “in a dark place” at the time. Some of the images depicted girls as young as seven years old. Perez was arrested on Monday and transported to the Naples Jail Center. He’s being charged with 50 counts of child pornography.
