Carter is a former graduate of Lorenzo Walker technical college. Lucarelli’s family has four children that each attended collier county public schools.

While they celebrated WINK News reporter Haley Zarcone asked both candidates about hot topics buzzing in the school district.

“Lorenzo Walker Technical College or technical high school excuse me is something that we need to take a look at. The community has put a lot of effort into that,” said Carter.

“The boundary modifications is definitely something that we’re going to see again. When we build new schools that something that has to happen,” said Lucarelli.

Lucarelli also mentioned the budget and she says that comes before the board in September.

Both candidates said this was not just a win for them tonight; It was a win for parents, students and school staff of Collier County.
