Pedestrian killed in fatal Naples crash on U.S. 41

The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating a crash that killed a pedestrian in Naples on Wednesday evening.

The crash occurred near Lely Resort Boulevard and U.S. 41., at around 4 p.m.

Authorities say the crash involved an SUV and a bicycle.

The SUV was traveling west on the right lane of U.S. 41. The driver, identified as a 22-year-old female, attempted to change lanes onto the right lane.

The 26-year-old male bicyclist was traveling against traffic on the westbound bicycle lane when the crash occurred.

The front right of the vehicle collided with the victim, resulting in a fatality.

The victim was pronounced dead on the scene.

Two minor passengers were in the vehicle, but no injuries have been reported.
