WINK News has received the crash report for the day a teen was hit and killed while riding her bike last month. According to Cape Coral police, a box truck was sitting at a red light on mid-Cape Terrace, preparing to turn left onto Santa Barbara. RELATED: Celebration of life held for teen killed in bicycle crash The streetlight turned green and then Ahrens entered the crosswalk. The driver of the box truck told officers he didn’t see Ahrens as she rode in front of him, and he started to go. Ahrens suffered fatal injuries and died on the scene. WINK is working to find out if any charges will be filed; we’ll let you know what we find out.
