17-year-old killed in 4-vehicle crash on State Road 82

A teenager has been arrested after a four-vehicle crash on State Road 82 left multiple people injured and killed another teenager.

The crash happened Friday afternoon, just before 2 p.m.

According to an incident report from the Florida Highway Patrol, the first vehicle, a sedan, was traveling west on State Road 82 at a high speed, approaching the T-Intersection of Harcourt Avenue.

A white sedan was seen traveling west on State Road 82, also at a high speed, approaching the same intersection.

A third and fourth vehicle, an SUV and a sedan, were traveling west on State Road 82, approaching the intersection ahead of the two sedans.

At some point, the first sedan collided with the SUV, causing the SUV to collide with the sedan in front of it.

After the crash, the first sedan veered right onto the north side curbed shoulder, collided with a street sign and launched into the tree line. A 17-year-old male was ejected during the crash and died on the scene.

Two other passengers in the car sustained serious injuries and were transported to an area hospital.

The driver of the first sedan was arrested and charged with reckless driving with serious injury, reckless driving with personal injury, two counts of reckless driving with damage to property and driving with a suspended license.

After the crash, the third Sedan and the SUV came to rest on the northside shoulder of the road.

The white sedan did not stay on the scene. Little is known about the driver or their condition.
