Massive fire severely damages Bonita Springs home

Multiple fire crews responded to a massive fire that damaged a home near Thornbury Lane in Bonita Springs.

Crews arrived at the home within the Bonita Bay gated community around 10:40 p.m. on Tuesday.

The fire was extinguished by 1:40 a.m., with a secondary crew arriving on the scene to extinguish hot spots.

The two-story home was reported to have serious structural damage from the flames.

The state fire marshal has been notified of the incident as crews continue to investigate the cause of the fire.

According to the Bonita Springs Fire Control & Rescue District, the home sustained damages through the roof and back half of the building, causing a collapse.

No one was inside the home, as it was going through a remodeling project.
