The Florida Department of Law Enforcement released a new picture of a double-amputee teenager who remains missing from Collier County.

According to FDLE, 16-year-old Dylan Helms was last seen on Sept. 26 near the intersection of Santa Barbara Boulevard and Whitaker Road.

The Collier County Sheriff’s Office told WINK News that Helms ran away from a youth shelter. Staff observed him leaving but could not catch him because of his wheelchair, citing that he was too fast. Staff do not know of any endangerment.

He has blonde hair and blue eyes and was last seen wearing a black beanie, white tank top and khaki or black pants.

The new photo shows him in khakis and wearing a black beanie.

Earlier photos showed him with a buzz cut, and his hair may be longer now.

If you have any information on his whereabouts, please get in touch with FDLE or call the CCSO at 239-252-9300 or 911.
