A potential tornado touchdown has left damage in the Lake Fairway Community of North Fort Myers.

There are no confirmed injuries at this time.

As Hurricane Milton is set to make landfall Wednesday night, tornado warnings have been in effect for parts of Charlotte, DeSoto and Lee counties.

Neighbors said there was a lot of damage. Residents surveyed the aftermath on their vehicles.

Matt is a Fairways resident. He said he was watching television when a tornado ripped through the house.

“The weatherman said to take cover. About 10 seconds later, the tornado ripped through the roof of the house,” said Matt. “Rafters were falling on us. I covered up my mother and the dog, and about 20 seconds later, it was gone, and so was the house.”

There was debris around the entire area. Metal even hung from trees.

Homes were also damaged by the possible tornado.
