Some good news after Hurricane Milton: the Naples Zoo animals are safe and sound.

“Our ride-out team is safe, and we are happy to report that all the animals are safe and secure,” the Naples Zoo said in a Facebook post. “We thank you all for your support and are grateful to our staff who stayed on-site to care for the animals through the storm.”

In its Facebook post, the Naples Zoo also shared various photos of their animals, including one of a kinkajou wrapped in a blanket and another of two animals in an apparent embrace.

The Naples Zoo also gave updates on the property itself which received some expected flooding from Lake Victoria.

Thankfully, the zoo has not noted any significant damage yet.

It will remain closed Friday, Oct. 11 as the zoo staff focuses on cleanup efforts.
