Charlotte County holds news conference regarding Milton

Charlotte County held a news conference with Emergency Management Director Patrick Fuller to provide an update on its response to Hurricane Milton.

The news conference was at 2:15 p.m. on Sunday.

Fuller said the many Charlotte County services will be open on Monday.

The fueling site at the Charlotte County Sports Park on El Joebean Road will be providing fuel from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

10,000 MREs, 12,000 cases of water,and 10,000 tarps have been distributed to Charlotte County residents.

The north side of Manasota Key has been opened.

Fuller urged all Charlotte County residents affected by Helene or Milton to apply for FEMA assistance by calling 1-800-621-3362 or at disasterassistance.gov

Emergency Management is reviewing the need to continue the curfew set after Milton.

Emergency Management urges residents to exercise extreme caution with hot weather, debris, and traffic lights that aren’t operating.
