Due to the back-to-back hurricanes, the Florida International Air Show announced canceled its upcoming event.

Hurricanes Helene and Milton severely impacted the Charlotte County area, leaving many without shelter and essential resources. This prompted the cancellation of allocations to those in need.

FIAS stated, “While the Air Show has always been a celebration of resilience and togetherness, we believe that our efforts are best directed toward rebuilding and ensuring that our neighbors and loved ones are safe and supported.”

While the air show has been canceled for this year, the FIAS asked Southwest Florida residents to consider aiding in the recovery by donating to Community Organizations Active in a Disaster.

Donations will be used to help distribute relief supplies, provide immediate alternative housing and care for displaced residents, and assist in mobilizing recovery efforts to rebuild and restore the community.

The air show will resume in 2025.
