Man arrested for breaking into home, stabbing woman in Tice

The Lee County Sheriff’s Office arrested a man on Sunday for breaking into a home and stabbing a woman.

According to LCSO, the incident happened just before 1:30 a.m. on New York Drive in Tice.

Deputies responded to the scene and located a woman with multiple stab wounds inside the home.

The man, Bonnier Jose Sarmiento Lanza, 33, fled the scene before deputies’ arrival but was located thanks to drone footage.

According to detectives, Lanza broke into the victim’s home and struck and stabbed her multiple times while she was asleep.

Lanza and the victim reportedly knew each other, and the victim is in stable condition.

Lanza is charged with two counts of burglary with battery and aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.
