Naples philanthropist Jay Baker has made a significant donation to the Humane Society Naples.
During the Humane Society Naples’s Pet Lovers Gala on Friday, he presented them with a $5 million check.
According to Baker, the gift was made in honor of his wife, Patty, who is known for her love of animals.
“I’m doing something special for Patty Baker for the Humane Society. I’m giving $5 million,” said Jay Baker.
The gift is the largest donation in the shelter’s history and will provide transformative medical care and lifesaving support for its animals.
Following the donation, the Humane Society Naples announced its name change to “Patty Baker Humane Society Naples.”
More than $670,000 in additional funding was raised during the Friday event.
