COLLIER COUNTY, Fla.- Credit card fraud– and the suspect is caught on camera!

Strange charges from a jewelry store showed up on one man’s bank statement. When he called the store, the clerk checked the security camera to see who was using the card.

It all happened at Paradise Jewelry on Airport Pulling Road.

Deputies rushed to the store Friday around 2 p.m. because they thought there was a robbery in progress. However, they quickly learned the call was about a crime that happened two days earlier.

Surveillance video taken inside the store Wednesday shows two men looking at different types of jewelry in the glass displays.

Manager Brigitte Foreman says a man dressed in all black bought a very expensive pair of earrings using a credit card with his name on it. Foreman says she checked the man’s ID and it matched.

But a man who lives in St. Augustine, who owns a card with the same numbers on it, called the store to ask about a strange charge.

Foreman tells WINK News, she had a gut feeling.

“The gut feeling told me to take a picture, or copy the driver’s license, just in case, and I wasn’t trying to stereotype. But I had this feeling, because they almost looked like they were shopping the store, or casing the store,” said Foreman.

Investigators are now looking for the two men in the video. If you have any information on the identity of the men, call the Collier County Sheriff’s Office.
