LEHIGH ACRES, Fla.- Police are investigating a bank robbery at a Wells Fargo located on Homestead Road, near Leeland Heights Boulevard. Authorities say a Hispanic male wearing all tan clothing and a sombrero type hat entered the business and handed one of the tellers a note demanding money. The teller complied with the demand and handed him an unknown amount of cash in a Wells Fargo envelope. The suspect then fled the area on foot. During the search of the immediate area, deputies located and detained an individual fitting the suspect’s description. Employees of the bank identified the subject as the person that robbed the bank. The money taken from the bank was located in the suspect’s pocket, still in a Wells Fargo envelope.
