LEE COUNTY, Fla.- A birthday bash landed several wanted felons behind bars.

On Thursday, the Lee County Sheriff’s Office arrested Eddie Saez, Angel Vasquez, and Larissa Jones after conducting an undercover surveillance operation.

Police say 24-year-old “Fat Eddie” Saez is one of Lee County’s most violent offenders and drug traffickers.

Saez was wanted on criminal felony charges for his involvement in a shooting incident earlier in the year.

“When he’s not incarcerated, he’s committing crimes, so he’s no stranger to the sheriff’s office,” said Sheriff Mike Scott.

Authorities say he was scheduled to participate and host a “Birthday Bash,” along with other members of Lee County’s most violent offenders, at Club Suggars located on Boy Scout Drive in Fort Myers.

The operation resulted in undercover detectives observing a large scale narcotics deal conducted by Saez prior to the “Birthday Bash” at his residence on the 1300 block of Connie Avenue N, in Lehigh Acres.

“We were all too happy to pop their balloons and blow out their candles, frankly. They’re thugs, they’re dangerous, they’re drug dealers, and they’re violent,” said Scott.

According to the sheriff’s office, over 5 pounds of marijuana was exchanged for a large amount of U.S. currency. As a result of the narcotics transaction, detectives secured a search warrant for the Saez residence.

A search of the residence yielded a firearm, hundreds of rounds of ammunition, a total of 6.5 pounds of marijuana, and miscellaneous items of drug paraphernalia. Additionally, over $12,000 in U.S. currency, as well as a 2009 Nissan Maxima was seized for forfeiture during the operation.

Saez is facing multiple charges including possession of firearm by convicted felon and marijuana distribution.

Vasquez was charged with possession of marijuana and the intent to distribute. Jones is facing charges for possession of marijuana.
