DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (AP) – It took jurors just 10 minutes to find a Daytona Beach man guilty of setting fire to his employer’s property after he was fired.

The Daytona Beach News-Journal (http://bit.ly/1xBFcxo ) reports 40-year-old Damion Haywood was sentenced Wednesday to 30 years in prison on arson charges.

Officials say Haywood was fired June 17. About an hour later he went to the home of his former boss Willie Irven and set it on fire. He also set fire to a pickup truck. When a neighbor asked why he had done that, he threatened to set the neighbor’s house on fire.

Haywood turned himself in the next day and admitted to setting the fires.
