ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) – The United States Tennis Association is breaking ground on a new facility in Orlando.

Officials on Wednesday broke ground on the USTA National Campus facility, which will have more than 100 courts when it is completed next year.

The facility will house the USTA’s Community Tennis and Player Development divisions.

It is open to the public and also will be home for the University of Central Florida’s men and women’s varsity teams.

The facility is being built in the Lake Nona area of Orlando. City officials are trying to transform the area into a hub of medical research.
