8 hurt after SUV hits Fort Lauderdale dry cleaning business

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (AP) – Authorities say eight people are being treated for injuries after a sports utility vehicle slammed into a dry cleaning business in Fort Lauderdale.

Deputy Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue Chief Tim Heiser told the Sun Sentinel (http://bit.ly/1ba5FOg ) seven people were injured in the Friday morning crash. The eighth was a bystander who may have been overcome by heat.

Officials say the black Cadillac Escalade went completely into DryClean USA. The business suffered significant damage.

Fire rescue officials cut gas and water to the building to reduce the hazard risk.
