
ORMOND BEACH, Fla. (AP) – Authorities say two men died after being pulled from rough waters on Central Florida’s east coast, the second and third drownings of the holiday weekend.
The Orlando Sentinel (http://bit.ly/1duvc5P ) reports a 61-year-old man from Lebanon was unconscious when he was pulled from Ormond Beach on Monday morning just before 11 a.m. and was pronounced dead at 11:51 a.m.
In another incident, police detective Melanie Griswold says on Melbourne Beach, passers-by pulled 50-year-old Jose Lopez from the edge of the surf around 12:30 p.m., but he died at Holmes Regional Medical Center in Melbourne.
Beach patrol says on Sunday, a man died after being dragged from surf around 11 a.m. in Daytona Beach Shores.
