LEE COUNTY, Fla.- The community is coming together to raise money for a local boy in need.

WINK News was at Challenger Middle School in Cape Coral Thursday evening for a fundraiser for Kevin Bopp.

He was diagnosed in 2010 with an optic pathway glioma, a rare brain tumor that’s causing him to gradually lose his eyesight.

“Makes me feel really happy that they’re caring,” said Bopp. “People are actually noticing me, feel for me.”

The money raised will go toward Bopp’s radiation treatment.
