Decisive, involved, yet compassionate: One picture of Jeb Bush

LEE COUNTY, Fla.- A local woman who worked with and for former Governor Jeb Bush remembers him as a decisive leader who always wanted lots of information and facts.

Carole Green worked with Gov. Bush when she was in the legislature from 1998 through 2004.  Then she worked for the governor as his Secretary of Elder Affairs for two more years.

“He is a task-master. You’d get a message at 4 p.m. on a Sunday, asking about something.  And you knew, you had to get an answer back pretty quickly. Facts, no glossing things over,” recalled Green.

“He has a great intellect and is reading all the time. He never, ever walked away from making a tough decision,” said Green.

“I am excited about his candidacy. Been a long time coming. I believe we need strong leadership and he will provide it.  I know the man and his mettle.   He will make a decision and stand by it, stand tall,” said Green.

She also recalls that Bush would become what she terms, a “teddy bear,” around children with special needs.

“He has compassion, while being a conservative,” she tells WINK News.
