Naples man swerves to avoid dog, crashes vehicle

CLEWISTON, Fla. – One person is in critical condition after a rollover crash.

The Florida Highway Patrol said 33-year-old Delwayne Mize of Naples was driving on Montura Avenue and South Olivo Street just before 8 p.m. Friday night. A witness told troopers Mize tried to swerve to avoid a dog darting across the road. Mize’s vehicle struck the dog, causing the vehicle to overturn.

Mize was taken to Lee Memorial Hospital in critical condition. Trust WINK News for updates as they become available.
