FORT MYERS, Fla. – Friday, September 11, 2015 marks the 14th anniversary of the terrorist attacks on the United States and one local Southwest Florida restaurant is stepping up to honor the men and women who lost their lives that day and the ones who work on our front lines every day.

Mission BBQ was founded on September 11, 2011 and has a true commitment to the men and women that fight and serve our country, along with the first responders of our local community. Friday at noon, Mission BBQ will host a huge event honoring several local fire departments and law enforcement.

First responders will be honored with a free sandwich of their choice, from brisket to pulled pork, pulled chicken or turkey. Mission BBQ continues to sell “American Hero” 9/11 cups for $3.99, $2 of which goes to support law enforcement and fire in Lee County. Customers are able to keep the cup and return to the restaurant with it for discounts.
