CAPE CORAL, Fla.- The family of a man killed in a Cape Coral pool hall crash has filed a wrongful death lawsuit against the driver, 75-year-old William Gulliver. Police say Gulliver was drunk when he crashed his car into Diamond Billiards, killing chef Ron Gravel. In a statement sent by the family’s attorney, Gravel’s family says in part: “We are still in shock and disbelief that something like this has happened to such an amazing, honorable, and loved man… Drinking and driving kills people and IS 100% preventable. We hope that his legacy will not be in vain…” The family says they plan to work with Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) and other organizations to help make a change. This week, Gulliver pleaded not guilty to DUI manslaughter.
