MGN FORT MYERS, Fla. – A 5-year-old boy was among four people shot at an apartment complex Wednesday night, authorities said. The child and a 17-year-old were last listed in critical condition at Lee Memorial Hospital, authorities said. The conditions of the other two victims, who were described as in their mid-20s, was not immediately available. Authorities described their injuries as non-life threatening. The shooting happened at the Sabal Palm Apartments near the intersection of Martin Luther King Jr. and Veronica S. Shoemaker boulevards, authorities said. Fort Myers police was notified about the shooting at about 9 p.m. after the victims drove themselves to the hospital, authorities said. A blue Ford vehicle with multiple bullet holes was parked outside the hospital’s emergency room entrance. It was surrounded by crime scene tape. As officers responded to the hospital, a 911 caller reported hearing gunshots near the apartment complex, police said. Officers located a crime scene near the intersection of Dale Street and Veronica S. Shoemaker Boulevard. The victims told investigators a white vehicle pulled up alongside them and started shooting, police said. Detectives did not provide any detailed suspect information. No further information was immediately available.
