JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) – Authorities searched a pond near the apartment complex where a 21-month-old boy disappeared nearly three months ago.

Jacksonville Sheriff’s spokesman Christian Hancock says the search of a pond on Monday followed a tip and is similar to other recent searches for the child who disappeared in July.

Hancock says the sheriff’s office continues to check up on tips received in the case of the missing toddler.

The Florida Times-Union (http://bit.ly/1NSbJM6 ) reports the latest search took place near the Ravenwood Apartments where the boy lived with his mother and her boyfriend. Lonna Lauramore Barton and William Ruben Ebron Jr. have been charged with child neglect and giving false information connected to the boy’s disappearance.

Ebron remains in jail. Records don’t indicate whether he has an attorney.
