ALVA, Fla.- Deputies are investigating the near drowning of a child at the Hickey Creek Mitigation Park, off Palm Beach Boulevard.
The Alva Fire Department says the child is in critical condition after being pulled from a small pond.
The child was with family members and other children. Authorities say it took firefighters 4 minutes to locate him, submerged under water.
EMS performed CPR on the child as they transported him to Lee Memorial Hospital from the park.
The victim has not been identified.
