JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) – Authorities in Jacksonville have recovered the body of a 17-year-old boy who they say fell from a boat in the St. Johns River while he was fishing with his uncle.

Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department spokesman Tom Francis tells local media that Adam Rosier Jr. became entangled in a casting net as he and his 45-year-old uncle, John Rosier, were fishing for mullet early Thursday morning.

The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office dive team later recovered the teenager’s body in 11 feet of water.

Francis says the two had been fishing in that area for years and were familiar with that part of the river.
