
MIAMI (AP) – Tropical Storm Kate is moving toward the northwestern Bahamas.
The National Hurricane Center in Miami says that on Monday, the storm is maintaining its strength. Kate’s maximum sustained winds are 45 mph (75 kph) with additional strengthening expected over the next two days.
A tropical storm warning is in effect for the central and northwestern Bahamas.
The storm is centered about 90 miles (140 kilometers) southeast of Great Abaco Island in the Bahamas and is moving northwest at 14 mph (22 kph).
