FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (AP) — New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady says it will be difficult to replace a “great player” such as wide receiver Julian Edelman.
Brady said on his weekly radio appearance that it’s more than just plugging the next man up when it comes to replacing Edelman. Brady said on WEEI radio on Monday that Edelman is “really integral to part of basically everything you’re doing.”
Edelman reached for his foot after being tackled in Sunday’s 27-26 victory over the New York Giants. Coach Bill Belichick declined to comment on Edelman’s injury.
Edelman’s injury comes a week after the team lost running back Dion Lewis for the season. The Patriots improved to 9-0 on Sunday. They play the Buffalo Bills on Monday night.
