FORT MYERS, Fla. – As many rang in the new year watching fireworks or popping bottles of champagne, one local family was at the hospital welcoming a brand new baby girl in to the world.
“There’s no words. I started crying and laughing at the same time,” said mother Ana Albuquerque. “No words to explain. So much joy.”
Isabella, who came into the world at 7 pounds, 7 ounces, and 20 inches long, arrived four days early. She was born at 12:46 a.m., making her the first 2016 baby in Lee County.
“We weren’t expecting that at all but she made it,” Albuquerque said. “She didn’t want to be born in 2015 I guess. She was the first one of 2016 bringing us blessings and joy.”
