Another woman allegedely scammed by contractor

FORT MYERS, Fla. – Another woman has come forward saying she too was ripped off by a local contractor who is being charged with grand theft.

Kathleen Sheehan said she paid Patrick Leach to remodel her home. He cashed her check then failed to show up to do the work, she said.

Yesterday, Sheehan saw his mugshot on television.

“If I could’ve jumped into the TV set, I would’ve,” she said.

It has been eight months since Sheehan contracted Leach to work for her. She has not received a refund.

“Well it’s now February. There is no check in the mail. There’s nothing,” Sheehan said.

Leach was recommended to her, Sheehan said. But the since-arrested contractor had an “F’ rating on the site.

Leach is not a liscensed contractor. Before he was removed from Angie’s List, an online referral site for local businesses, the company said they offered Leach a complaint resolution service.

According to representatives, Leach ignored the website’s offer.

“All of his excuses were just lies and I’m really kind of tired of senior citizens being scammed,” Sheehan said.
