Mr. Food: Southwest sausage chili

What You’ll Need:
  • 2 pounds ground Italian sausage
  • 1/2 cup minced onion
  • 2 (16-ounce) cans kidney beans, rinsed and drained
  • 1 (15-ounce) can whole kernel corn, drained
  • 1 (28-ounce) can tomato sauce
  • 1 1/3 cups salsa
  • 1 1/3 cups water
  • 2 teaspoons chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
What To Do:
  1. In a large pot over medium-high heat, cook sausage and onion, stirring until sausage crumbles and is no longer pink; drain.
  2. Stir in remaining ingredients and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to medium; simmer uncovered 12 minutes, or until heated through, stirring often.
