2 fired, 1 suspended from Lee County schools

FORT MYERS, Fla. – Two Lee County School District employees were fired and one suspended without pay for various alleged crimes, according to the district’s special agenda.

James Caprino, a building supervisor at Lehigh Middle School, is accused of stealing aluminum materials from a school construction project. Caprino then sold the materials, valued at $300, and pocketed $46 for the trade.

Daniel Preston was a custodian at Marina High School. Are was arrested in August 2015 for selling prescription pills to undercover detectives twice. One of those occassions a minor was near.

Both Caprino and Preston were fired from their jobs.

Bus operator Caron Perkins was suspended with pay after pleading guilty to stealing $69,686 from the Department of Veterans Affairs in October 2015.
