ESTERO, Fla. – A dad was arrested after being found parked in the middle of the road in a car with his children and blood alcohol levels nearly eight times the legal limit. Stephen Allbritton is facing DUI and child neglect charges because deputies say he was slumped over his wheel at the intersection of Corkscrew Road and Firehouse Lane. He came in and out of consciousness and was hardly able to mumble responses to deputies questions, reports said. His passengers were his two teen children, who were there when ambulances were called to the scene. Their father was unable to get out of his own vehicle nor could he stand, according to deputies. Allbritton was taken to the emergency room at Gulf Coast Hospital, deputies said. The hospital contacted the Department of Children and Families and Allbritton’s children were released to another parent, records show.
