Storms possible Wednesday as heat, humidity continue

FORT MYERS, Fla. — Between 1 and 3 inches of rain fell across Southwest Florida during storms Tuesday, and an even better chance of rain exists for Wednesday.

The early hours will nonetheless be mostly dry, with a few showers possible near Lake Okeechobee by late morning. Temperatures will rise from the 70s to 90 by lunchtime with a mix of sun and clouds.

The best chance of rain will come in the late afternoon and evening hours with a continued mix of sun and clouds. It’ll be hot and humid, and heat indices will soar to 100 to 105. Overnight lows will fall to 76.
